Over the past two decades, our growing reliance on technology has become substantial. Electronic products have helped us change the way and speed in which we communicate and retrieve information. Additionally, electronics have served to become our primary source for entertainment. Our use of electronic equipment has become pervasive not only in our personal lives, but in our workforce as well. According to the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), in 2007, Americans got rid of 289 million units of TVs, VCRs, cell phones, desktop PCs, laptop PCs and PC monitors. Whether it is replacing a product, the desire to eliminate duplicity or the need to remove unused products, we are constantly doing away with electronics that are no longer needed.

Electronics are complex devices that are made up of a variety of components. Constituents such as lead, nickel, cadmium and mercury could pose risks to human health or the environment if mishandled at their end-of-life. The valuable resources that are used to make electronics such as precious metals, copper, and engineered plastics require considerable energy to process and manufacture. By recycling electronics, or “e-Cycling”, we recover valuable materials and as a result, we reduce greenhouse gas emission, reduce pollution and save energy. Additionally, the recycling of electronics conserves resources by extracting fewer raw materials from the earth. Environmental studies illustrate the negative effects of waste being put into our landfills. By recycling and reusing these resources, not only do we keep these products from our landfills but we provide much needed material that would otherwise be mined and processed, further damaging our earth.

More now so than ever, the importance of recycling is on the rise. Studies show that the human population must be aware of the impact we are making on the earth. If we continue on our current course and don’t reuse our resources, the negative impact could become permanent. E-Cycling is specifically encouraged among businesses because they produce the largest amount of electronic waste, or “e-waste”, which contains material that is hazardous to our health and the environment. A&A Transfer, Inc. dismantles all e-waste and segments it into different groups for recycling, leaving zero waste for the landfill. We are very concerned with ensuring the proper management of used electronics and are working hard to encourage the collection and proper recycling of used electronics. A&A Transfer, Inc. is committed to doing our part in helping the environment and currently utilize “green strategies” to foster a change in our carbon footprint.

A&A Transfer, Inc. presently runs an e-Cycling service in which we recycle and reuse computers, TVs, monitors, servers and more. In being consciences of all the resources we use, we do not stop at e-waste. A&A Transfer, Inc. recycles everyday materials that we need to function as a business such as wood, cardboard, metal and plastic. We take this very seriously and do our part in various ways such as the use of skylights in our warehouses, large open windows in our office space, and battery powered equipment to name just a few. A&A Transfer, Inc. has made it a goal to stay ahead of the waste industry and do our part to educate others by keeping them informed on new requirements and better ways to help our earth. Please feel free to contact Kevin Sellner with any questions, ideals or ways that we can help you to do your part to keep the earth clean and productive for generations to come.
